  Incredible nightmare getting my Mom's marker. *Please note: Cemetaries are not as regulated as funeral homes, do your homework first! Know your rights, don't get ripped off like we did.* We chose this cemetary for the nice gal, Dallas, that we met who was very detail oriented and caring. Unfortunately when I went back to order the marker she had moved on to another cemetary. She was flawless, what a loss for Eastlawn. No communication from Michelle (office administrator?) and Jack (the replacement), I had to call them continously. Marker was not even ordered for 6 weeks and they had all kind of excuses. Michelle blamed the vendor, then food posioning and then a death in her own family. Jack said he was out of the country (apparently the office was left unmanned during this time???) and blamed Christmas and the vendor as well. It took filing a complaint with the BBB and calling the funeral director to get a response. I finally got a phone call saying the marker was ready and the photo was in, my father went to see it and cried for hours. It was NOT READY. It was the wrong granite, it was dirty, engraving ordered was missing, photo was not attached and the ground around it was bare mud and ugly still after 9 months!! He was devastated that this was the memorial to his wife of 51 years. Be very careful!!!! After they have your money (we paid almost $8k) you will only get excuses if you hear anything at all. They were very communicative BEFORE we paid, calling me almost daily. After going into the office and demanding answers I only got more excuses and apologies. Michelle promised me she would take care of these issues immediately and update me right away. 3 weeks later, NOTHING!!! I finally emailed her again demanding answers. Within 5 minutes she casually replied via email "Everything is complete".....that's it??? These folks are insensitve, non-communicative, money hungry, and take advantage of you in a time of grief. It took 4 months to get a marker and I am afraid to go see it. What should be a place to go in solemn remembrance of my Mom is now an absolute heartache for my family. Cannon Cleveland handled her funeral, we should have ordered the marker through them, they were fabulous.
